Jackie Strange serves as Executive Vice President and opened the firm's Louisville office in 2009. Ms. Strange has 30 years of experience with emphasis in employment law, human resources management, employee life cycle consulting, talent acquisition and diversity. She is part of the professional services, nonprofit, diversity and consumer specialty practice groups at DHR.
Ms. Strange’s professional career began with the Kentucky Court of Appeals and the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals as law clerk for the Honorable Boyce F. Martin, Jr. She went on to be Corporate Counsel for American Life & Accident Insurance Company and then Director of Human Resources and Legal Affairs for Audio Systems, Inc. Audio Systems was a manufacturer of radios for BMW and Harley Davidson. In 1985 Ms. Strange co-founded a human resource consulting and search firm, and in 1989 she founded Professional Search Consultants, an executive search firm. She sold her search business in 1995 when one of her clients, Brown-Forman Corporation, recruited her to head up Executive Search, Corporate Human Resources and EEO/AAP for the company as Vice President, Director of those functions. Ms. Strange also led the company’s first diversity initiative. In 2005, she was promoted to Vice President, Director, Employment Practices. In that role she directed the domestic talent acquisition team, executive search, and served as the due process consultant for the company, as well as continued to serve as EEO Officer until she left in 2008.
Ms. Strange is a member of the Kentucky and Louisville Bar Associations, the Society for Human Resource Management and the Greater Louisville Association of Realtors. She currently serves on the Boards of Sarabande Books, Louisville Visual Art Association and Kentucky Children’s Home Corporation. She serves as search committee member and advisor for nonprofit executive director search projects, and consults with nonprofits regarding human resource matters. Ms. Strange also conducts harassment and discrimination prevention training and investigations.
Ms. Strange has an associate degree in interior design and a BLS degree from University of Louisville, and earned a JD from the University of Louisville School of Law.
Ms. Strange has two sons, Sam, a Univeristy of Louisville graduate, and Ben, a University of Kentucky student. A Louisville native and current resident, Ms. Strange resides with artist Lloyd Kelly and Ben, when he’s home from UK.
