Jeff Pierson serves as a Senior Advisor in DHR's Washington, DC office.  He supports DHR's global operations by drawing on his unique insight and leadership experience in the energy and power industry, private equity and venture capital, and the U.S. federal government.  He is especially active in renewable energy, energy storage, smart grid and energy efficiency, and business software and services.

Mr. Pierson is also the Senior Vice President of Prudent Energy Corporation, the leading developer and manufacturer of vanadium-based (VRB®) advanced battery systems.  He previously held executive positions as the founder of Pierson Capital Advisors, LLC (PCA), a strategic consulting firm supporting U.S. private equity funds and their portfolio companies; the Associate Administrator for Investment at the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), where he led the $25.7 billion Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) program; Managing Director at ALTEC Energy Ventures, LLC, a global technology development firm; and Director of Power Generation Applications and Board Member at ALM Turbine, Inc.

Mr. Pierson devoted his early career to energy policy making, in Washington and overseas, serving as a market analyst at the International Energy Agency in Paris, France, as a senior White House aide, and professional staff member in the U.S. Congress.  Born in Oklahoma, Mr. Pierson received his B.A. from Emory University and completed graduate work in International Business and Finance at the Fletcher School at Tufts University.
